Brick

Another popular siding choice is brick. Although it is a veneer, it is actually made of fired clay and is held together with mortar.

Brick siding is not load-bearing, that is, like other sidings, it does not support the structure of the house. Water membranes are installed behind brick siding because water can get through brick cladding. Brick has a long life and requires occasional washing, but it will endure for the life of your home. Brick is a high end siding in terms of cost, but in terms of beauty and durability, it is worth it.
